Erik G. Lough Bariatric Surgeon MD, FACS
Dr. Lough is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery. He completed a fellowship in advanced laparoscopy and bariatric surgery at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, Massachusetts. During fellowship at UMass, Dr. Lough received expert training in minimally invasive techniques that provide patients a faster recovery with less pain and smaller incisions. As a bariatric surgeon, Dr. Lough performs surgery for the treatment of obesity that helps to improve overall quality of life, as well as medical problems related to obesity such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, acid reflux, weight-bearing joint pain, and sleep apnea. Dr Lough performs sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass, and gastric banding.
Dr. Lough was born and raised in Houston. While attending college at UT, he grew particularly fond of living in Austin and its community. After a decade of medical training, he returned with his wife and two sons to Cedar Park where they enjoy spending time as a family. Dr. Lough also enjoys Longhorn sports, playing soccer, lacrosse, and his bass guitar.
