Lindsey S. Sharp, MD, FACS, FASMBS is a highly-regarded bariatric surgeon and the Medical Director of REX Bariatric Specialists and Chairman of the Department of Surgery at UNC REX Healthcare in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Dr. Sharp graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science at Duke University and went on to earn his medical degree at Emory University School of Medicine (Cum Laude) where he also completed his residency. As a clinical associate, he fellowship trained in Advanced Minimally Invasive Surgery/Bariatric Surgery at Duke University.

Board-certified by the American Board of Surgery (ABS), Dr. Sharp is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), a fellow of American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (FASMBS), and a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES).

Dr. Sharp has held several important clinical appointments and is the recipient of numerous  honors, awards, grants, and scholarships. He is an active researcher, author, consultant and presenter having been an invited speaker at Obesity Week (ASMBS), the American College of Surgeons, SAGES and many other prestigious organizations.
