Michael Sutker, MD, FACS is a double board-certified general and bariatric surgeon specializing in minimally invasive and robotic-assisted weight loss surgery at the Medical City Dallas where he serves as Section Chief for General Surgery, Director of the Robotic Surgery Program, and Chair of Advanced Clinical Advisory Board. He brings his surgical expertise at the Michael Sutker, M.D., P.A.

Dr. Sutker began his career by receiving a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Plan 2 honors from the University of Texas and went on to earn his medical degree at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He completed an internship in general surgery at the University of Texas-Southwestern Medical Center where he also completed his residency.

After his residency, he attended the University of California-San Francisco where he fellowship-trained in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery. Additionally, he has received several certifications in laparoscopic and robotic surgery. He opened his practice, Michael Sutker, MD, PA., in 2014 and has two locations: Medical City Dallas Hospital (main office) and Medical City McKinney Hospital.

Dr. Sutker is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery (DABS), Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM), a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), and a member of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), the Obesity Medicine Association (OMA), the American College of Surgeons (ACS), the American Medical Association (AMA), the Texas Medical Association (TMA) and the Dallas County Medical Society (DCMS).

Dr. Sutker has authored several publications and papers and has received the D Magazine 2019 Top Doctor Award and the On-Time Physician Award 2019.
