Overall the hospital was great. I do think the patient load for nurses is a little much.
I guess no matter what hospital you are in don't expect to get much rest there. Beds are not very comfortable and they must come in one at a time to check vitals. It can't be done at one time.
It was wonderful to be hospitalized at a place where each and every person seemed to truly love their job. I did not see a scowl, or meet a single mean person. Everyone went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed. I cannot put into words how impressed I really am with this hospital and the employees. They get 5 stars in my opinion!!!
Moore Regional Hospital is a big-time hospital with a small-town feel. All of the staff I encountered was friendly and accommodating. My room was large enough to hold me and several other people. The nursing staff was very responsive to my calls. I would highly recommend Moore Regional Hospital.
I was very disappointed in the way my privacy was not respected during my four day stay at Moore Regional. I had to constantly ask that the door to my room be shut and several times had to get up to shut it myself after a staff member left the room (I did not want to ring the bell just for someone to come shut my door). I also could not understand why needed stats could not be done at the same time. The nurse would come in to do something and then just as I got back to sleep, the CNA would come in to take my blood pressure/temp. It seemed as if someone was coming in the room every hour and this made rest difficult! Finally, the last night I requested that no one bother me for anything and I was able to get a few hours of peaceful sleep. I just could not get over how often I was disturbed. I now realize that the hospital is not a place to get any rest. I was really frustated with this!! Also, I will never believe that a surgical nursing floor does not have adhievsive tape remover. I was told they did not have any, but I just find that hard to believe. I think my biggest pain came from the removal of the tape at bandage changing times. My last complaint is, one day during my stay I got out of bed and a great deal of fluids dripped onto the floor from my drainage site. The nurse came in and saw this, but did nothing about it. I finally had to ask for someone to get the mess off the floor and a few hours later someone from housekeeping came to clean up the mess. I will say the lady from housekeeping was very, very nice and very apologetic for someone not cleaning the mess sooner.
My hospital stay was good. With the exception of them being short staffed and several things I had to do for myself, it was OK.
The entire staff at Moore Regional were the best. They were there for you no matter what time you hit that little buzzer. They never complained about it either. Hopefully I won't have to, but if I ever need to stay in the hopital again, I hope it is MOore Regional.
