North Hills Hospital was the first hospital in Tarrant County to offer gastric bypass surgery with Roux en Y through the laparoscopic approach. Now our patients have the option of choosing laparoscopic lap band, gastric bypass or gastric sleeve surgery as well. Our program has been certified as a Bariatric Center of Excellence by the American Society of Bariatric Surgeons. A multi-disciplinary team of dietitians, psychologists, respiratory therapists, physical therapists, an anesthesiologist, a bariatric surgery team, and a bariatric nurse coordinator utilizing clinical pathways are dedicated to the treatment of these patients suffering from this disease. We offer post-op nutritional evaluation and instruction, monthly support groups and lifetime follow up with Bariatric Surgeon. We also offer a BEND (behavioral, exercise, nutrition decision ) program by appointment to help patients prepare for their new life and meet requirements for insurance coverage.
