Christina Phillips Registered Nurse Bariatric Coordinator

In 2011, my nursing career began in Tucson, AZ.  I moved to California in 2013, married my college sweetheart, and continued my nursing career on a busy post-operative floor.  It was during this time that I felt myself drawn to the Bariatric Surgical patient.  I found their journey courageous and inspiring, and I wanted to be sure that I provided the best care and support during their time on our unit. 

I felt it was my duty to be a resource, and this led me to pursue my Bariatric Nurse certification.  Over time, the position of Bariatric Coordinator became available, and I leaped at the opportunity.  I strive each day to improve our program by expanding the educational offering to both patients and staff, providing a safe and caring environment where people feel they can receive the help they need without fear of judgment or criticism, and offering continuous support for the life-long journey ahead. 

When I am away from the office, I enjoy spending time with my husband and young children.  We enjoy traveling, especially home to Louisiana, and visiting with our family around the globe.
