Happy New Year! (Thank God the holidays are over!)

Jan 05, 2010

All I can say is... phew!

The past couple of weeks have been pretty crazy with the holidays, moving and relatives visiting. I'm relieved and ready to start 2010! I decided before the new year came that I would not make any New Year's Resolutions! I went to a conference for work a couple of months ago and we had a guest speaker named Laurie Guest. She talked about rather than making New Year's Resolutions, which most people find difficult to stick with, she would have a yearly theme. Well I liked that idea and have adopted it for my own! So my "Theme" for 2010 is Positively Silent! I've decided that rather than tell all the people in my daily life what I'm doing, I'm going to keep silent about it and tell only my husband, mom, and blog on here! The positive part is that I'm going to be positive about... everything! Well, at least I'll try too! This way I won't be telling co-workers and others unnecessary personal tidbits and they won't tell me what I'm doing is wrong or bad!

I haven't weighed myself recently but I know I've packed on a few pounds. (My clothes are tight!) I go see my PCP in a couple of weeks, two days before I meet with Dr. Heydari, and while my labs should be alright, I know she'll have something to say about my weight gain. I let myself go, I know I did. It was easier and tastier to stop at McDonald's than to cook something. Not to mention it took a few days for all our kitchen supplies to make it to the new house... so I couldn't cook! (Darn!)

My anticipation is rising about meeting with Dr. Heydari! I'm excited but I've got all kinds of worries in my head that I won't be accepted as a patient, my insurance will refuse to cover the RNY, I'll fail some part of the psychiatric screening... you name it, I've worried about it! Of course I understand that worry about all those issues is no good. What ends up happening is God's will and I need to let it go! I also need to remember my 2010 theme and stay Positively Silent!!!!

Well, best wishes to everyone! I hope you are all having a great start to your 2010!
