Can you say what the hell!!!

Dec 16, 2008

I know I hadn't posted since August and you would think that since being approved I have accomplised a lot in the meantime.  I think not.  I have been still patiently waiting, getting frustrated and waiting somemore.  I had an appointment scheduled for the surgeon consultation on October 22nd and received a phone call about a week and half prior saying that they were having to cancel everybody's appointment.  I would be treated as a priority because I was ready to have my surgery and that I should be getting a call that following week for my new appoinment time. The following week had approached and I did not receive a phone call, so I called them myself and they said they weren't resheduling patient appoinments yet.  So between then and now I know I had called them once a week trying to get a status.  Everytime I called I would get a different answer, from they were remodeling and moving downstairs, to they were getting a new patient scheduling system, after that insurance negotiations and so on.  The last time I called I was told that the surgeon was trying to open up her own practice and it was pending credentialing from Blue Cross, which was my insurance company.
I am thinking okay I have been approved for my surgery since August.....what they hell!!

So I was in the process today of sending my paperwork over to another surgeon.....Dr. David Dyer in Nashville TN.  I had faxed my approval letter to them and was about to fax all of my records over to them, but decided to call my current surgeon's office to see if I could be refunded my program fee of $350.  I spoke with the program director telling her that I was feeling very discouraged and upset  for having to constantly be put on hold and I finally received some information that sounded like music to my ears.  "She asked, would it help if I go ahead and schedule you for our next surgery date."  I was thinking to myself it surely would.   So I have a surgery date for March 3rd, which was a cancellation......other than that she is booked all the way up through April.   I am still feeling a bit iffy about that date though.  What if something else comes up and they have to cancel that appoinment.  So my fingers are crossed and hopefully  everything will be okay here on out.
