The Journey Begins

Hi everyone! I am new to the board and wanted to take the time to introduce myself. I have recently been approved by Tricare for Bariatric surgery and am currently attending the support group meetings out at Womack. As well as trying to complete all of there pre - surgery requirements.

I have found myself in the past ten years in a body that I do not recognize anymore. After two children and a thyroid problem, I find myself with a BMI of 42. I am sure that there were lifestyle choices that contributed as well. I realize now that a change has to be made. Too many health problems have hit me, HTN and and arthritis just to mention a couple.I am scared to think of where I will be in ten years from now if I don't make drastic changes.

So with the support of fantastic friends, family and my 2 awesome kids my journey to find the new me begins. Any advice from anyone walking the same path would be greatly appreciated.
