Well it's been three weeks since surgery. I have to admit when I woke up in recovery I was shocked at how much it hurt. But within three days I was off of pain meds. Head Hunger has been a major issue. But I have been sticking to the doctors diet. I had my three week check up yesterday and he said I could move to the next phase of the diet. So, I tried a piece of lunch meat that is on the approved list of foods. It did not go down well at all. It caused a lot of pain. I think my pouch was shocked that something other than liquids was coming down. Also, I might have eaten it too fast. Have to learn to eat slow.
This has been a difficult three weeks. I am losing weight really good. But breaking the food addiction is a lot harder than I thought it would be. Soon I will upload a picture. I want to have some before and after memories.

Well its 8 days before my surgery and I'm at work and I cannot concentrate at all.  So I was thinking of posting my picture to my profile.
Well, I just can't do it. I cannot stand to see myself in photos. I don't even have any mirrors in my house that show anything other than my face and neck. When I see a reflection in a window I want to puke.
Maybe all of that will change after my surgery and I lose the weight.
But you know what...I don't think it will. I have always, always, always, seen my self as unattractive. Even when I was a normal weight girl and teenager.  Well we will see.

Hi all,
I haven't posted here in a while. Well I went through the whole appeal process all the way to a face to face. Finally I was approved. I am having surgery on April 27, 2007 and I couldn't be happier. I am getting a little nervous though. I could have never done this without OH and all of its members. I can't thank you enough. I will start posting my results right after surgery.

1/13/07: I was denied by BCN because of my lack of documentation of the last 12 months of medically supervised dieting. I don't know who's medical records they were looking at but it sure wasn't mine. I was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes in Nov. of 2005 and was put on a Diabetic Diet and Excercise program. I have seen the doctor almost every month since then and still it wasn't enough for BCN. My Doctor has written an appeal letter and I will be sending my grievance very soon. I will let you know how it turns out.
