My 6 year surgerversary!!
Six years ago I had gastric bypass surgery! I was a 'three shot-a-day' diabetic, 225 pounds and 5'3"...a butterball! I had the surgery 3/9/09 and lost down to 169. I am 172 now and waver between 172 and 175. My point is...if I can do it, anyone can do it! To anyone who is hesitant about having the surgery, don't be! It was the best thing I ever did for myself! I have not one ounce of trouble with my surgery. I had it in Birmingham, Alabama, with Dr. Andrew Dewitt!
Do not give up on yourself! You CAN do it! I had gained up to 187 pounds because I had taken up drinking wine! Boy, did I fill the emptiness of eating! Drinking was much more fun! But my husband of 39 years sat my fat butt down and told me he was not going to lose me after I had surgery to help my diabetes...to drinking!! So I stopped drinking and it's been one year as of 2/6/15 that I have not drank. I feel addictive demons are within us and we have to over come them or we will die earlier than we want.
Didn't mean to go on and on...I wish you the very best. Try to get control of your 'grazing'. Ask yourself if you are hungry or is it just a habit. If your honest answer is that it is a habit...then give yourself 30 days to break the habit. Grab some carrots with fat free ranch, almonds, etc. and schedule your snack. Only eat the snack two hours after you eat a meal...just suggestions!
