Judy checking in again..........today is the 26th day after surgery. I'm healing very well but my scale and I are doing serious battle! Since last Thursday I have been on a plateau and this morning I actually gained 2 pounds. I refuse to get discouraged. My body has hung onto this weight for many, many years and doesn't want to let go! I know I shouldn't weigh every day, but now it's become a GAME! I started soft foods yesterday evening and tolerated baked chicken well. Sure doesn't take much! So.....how can I be A-not losing and B-GAINING? I did have one very bad session this week...tried a protein shake and did some major heaving and later diarrhea. My sis asked her nurse about it and was told that protein powders and gall bladders are not a good mix (I still have mine). Guess I'll just try to get my protein from meat and cheeses. Sis Sherri has lost 39 pounds as of yesterday's doc appointment. You can't imagine how proud of her I am! Buddy Jenny is doing well.....has her leak test today. She's losing better than a pound a day. Buddy Linda is anxiously awaiting her evaluation session. I've sent as much detail as I could to help ease her anxieties. My angel did that for me and it was such a stress reliever to know what I could expect. Good wishes to all who are on the losing side or who aspire to be. I know I will eventually break this barrier I've come up against. I've always said my body is super efficient and resists weight loss. I'll win this time though!!!

This is Judy checking in! Surgery went well, recovery is also going well. Am back at work partial days this week. I'm losing about a pound a day and think it's just phenomenal! Dr. Eagon in St. Louis is a wonderful, wonderful surgeon and a kind and compassionate physician. Thanks to all who posted here for me and thanks to my sis for keeping my profile updated. Everyone who has supported me, either verbally or just by being there with help and understanding, is deserving of medals of honor! What a journey and what a truly wonderful group of people.

Judy got home from the hospital on Wednesday after hwer surgery on Monday. She is doing well although she hurts when she gets up and down. I am sooo proud of my sister. When I started my journey she had never even considered the surgery for herself. She has such terrible degenerative arthritis that when she did consider it she saw all the benefits to her health. My husband and Judy are so close they have pet names for each other. He calls her Yeah Buddy which is her favoriet expression and she calls him Tiny Butt which compared to us he is. We hope to go see her for a few days in June. Thanks again for prayers and well wishes and know she will be back telling everyone of you about her surgery and weight loss very soon. Sherri Andrus

I am Judy Wood's sistter. Yes, the one in the blue shirt with poka dots. After waiting all day to find out about Judy's surgery I finally lost it about 3:00pm and called her daughter in Florida. Judy made it through surgery just fine and her over emotional sister is soooo thankful. She was returned to her room for over an hour before the staff remembered to notify her husband in the waitingroom. Her procedure was done laproscopically but they did not take her gall bladder as she had hoped they would. Her doctor said the ultra sound did not indicate a problem so he opted to leave it. Hope he waz right. One surgery is enough to last a while. Thanks for all the prayers and support all of you have given my sis. She is a very special person and deserves the very best of everything. Judy: Thinking of you this evening and knowing you are going to do great on Monday. Soon you'll be on the other side soon and I will be waiting to hear from you when you get home. Know I'll be there holding your hand on Monday, even if it's just in prayer. Linda Valerio
