Already Had Surgery? Got a Date? Track Your Surgery Information

Have you already had Bariatric or Plastic Surgery? Or do you have one coming up? The new and improved ObesityHelp Surgeries system allows you to track any prior and upcoming surgeries.

To get started, you must first log in to your ObesityHelp user account.

Insert P1

Click on My OH, scroll down to Medical History and click.

Insert P5

Surgeries Page

This is the "Surgeries" page. From here, you can add, edit, and remove information about any Bariatric or Plastic surgeries you have had or are about to have.

Insert P6

  1. Click here to add a new surgery.
  2. If you've not yet picked a surgeon, click here to browse the ObesityHelp Directory System.
  3. You can switch between viewing/editing Bariatric and Plastic procedures by clicking on these links.

Adding a Surgery

To get started, click on "add surgery" at the top.

Insert P7

  1. Select the type of surgery.
  2. Select whether the surgery is open, laparoscopic, or endoscopic.
  3. Choose the date of the surgery (it can be in the future in the case of a planned surgery).
  4. Click on the text box next to "Surgeon" to bring up the Professional Search form. Type in the name of your surgeon and also select the state where he or she operates to narrow down the search. Once you have found your surgeon, click on "This is my bariatric/plastic surgeon" underneath his or her name to select that person.
  5. If you are adding a bariatric surgery, you can choose to set it as your "Primary" surgery (more on this below).
  6. If you have not yet had this surgery, you can provide contact details on how people can reach you during your stay at the hospital.

Primary Surgery

Setting a surgery as your "Primary" surgery means that the surgery date, surgery type, and surgeon from this surgery will be associated with your account. This information will appear on your profile, messageboard posts, and a few other areas across the site. You may only set one surgery as your primary surgery. If you do not wish for your surgery information to be shown to the public, you can set none of your surgeries to be "primary."

Cannot Find Your Surgeon?

If you were not able to find your surgeon's profile, you can add him or her to our system by clicking the "add a new bariatric/plastic surgeon" link at the bottom of the search container. This opens up a simple form requesting some basic information. The only required fields are First and Last Name. Fill out any information that you have and click "Save" to add the surgeon to the system. You can then choose this person as your surgeon.

After Adding a Surgery

Once you have successfully added a surgery, you are taken back to the main Surgeries page:

  1. Clicking on your surgeon's name takes you to his or her public profile.
  2. Click "write review" to leave a new review for this surgeon.
  3. Click the wrench icon to edit this surgery's information.
  4. Click on the 'X' icon to delete this surgery.
