I have bad news : the chef of surgery has canceled your surgery and others because HSC are short on OR staff,
We are looking for an alternative solution - I will keep you posted.

Thanks everyone for allowing me to vent. I've had a series of bad days and this just tops everything off. They have not responded yet to any of my emails regarding what the plan might be - I do have to say that I just saw this email when I got home from work so maybe I'll hear from them tomorrow. I have already paid for the hotel through Travelocity so I am praying that I don't lose my money as it is non-refundable. Also, as much as I love them, my students and I were looking forward to a brief break from each other.

That totally sucks. I'm so sorry. I hope you hear quick. I'd be on the horn first thing in the morning & sending e-mails tonight. Hopefully they can some how get you an OR so you don't have to change plans. Maybe Dr G can help some way since your flying in from another Country, maybe the can bump someone who is local.
