Well, yes. *giggle*
It's too special of a story for me to be giggling at ALL, really. My bad.
Sooooo.... I have this friend, for YEARS a friend, named Bryan. He and his father, who(M?) I know as well live in my neighbourhood. Known them for years and our kids went to school together, etc.
Anyway..... when I (finally) kicked Joe out and started getting my life back in proper order, I ran into them at the pub. I was sitting with Dad, Bryan was.. (somewhere? I dunno.). Dad put his hand on my shoulder, looked me in the eye, and in his very thick Scottish brogue proclaimed, "Karen. You do know that my son has been in love with you for years." Me - WTF??!! "Ummm.... uhhh.. WHAT?"
Well, to make a long story longer, apparently, 'tis true. I confronted his ass, delicate flower that I am and all. Soooooo... apparently, this very good friend is in love with me. Which is difficult for my wee brain to compute. We've been having dinners, taking walks, watching movies, and "hanging out". I do have feelings for this man, I've learned. He is a pure Scot, through and through and it cracks me up.

You know what the best part is, Pat? We know each other. Not as lovers, but as true friends, faults and all. I'm learning that this is the most important part of a solid, might even last awhile, relationship with someone. :)

And if I had felt worthy of marrying my best (male) (not that there's anything wrong with that) friend at the time, I'd still be a happily married old lady too. :)
