I've noticed that instead of feeling full, I finish eating and then I get a rapid heart rate, nauceus, clammy, etc.

this is classic dumping syndrome, but I didnt know it was possible with a sleeve...

It's not common, but it is possible per my Dr and my experience. I dont get the rapid heart rate nor the clammy feeling or even the immidiate effect. I dump on occasion but thats okay, I learn and I consider it as weight coming off

I'd talk to you Dr. about it

Best of luck!

I've had it happen once in the last 4 months.  Diarrhea and throwing up for about 2 hours after sugar.  Not fun.

Dumping syndrome is caused by the rapid exit of sugary or fatty foods directly entering your intestines unprocessed as in a bypass patient, because we still have fully functioning stomachs and the foods exit into the correct part of our intestines we do not "Dump'. BUT and its a big one, I believe that our bodies are so efficeint now with our new anatomy that some high sugar foods exspecially liquidy ones will pass so quickly into our upper intestines that we have what a diabetic would call a sugar reaction, nausia, rapid heart rate, sweating. This has similar symptoms to dumping but biologically completely different.

I am 11 days post op and this has happened to me twice.  I can't stand the shakes anymore so my friend brought me a couple of "Boost" shakes thinking that since they weren't as low in calories that they might taste better.  Well OMG!  Immediately after finishing one, I had the rapid heart rate, dizzy, naseau, and felt like I was going to pass out.   Since it's rare with the sleeve, my doctor assumed it was more of my complications and ordered me back to the hospital.  All of my bloodwork turned out fine, so I went home, and then drank another shake.  BLAM!  SAME THING!  Finally my doctor and I put it together, and I threw out the boost.  I've been fine since.

So yes, it can happen with a sleeve!!
