Vitamin Schedule--what's yours?
This is the plan my bariatric team has put together for sleeve patients. They are very specific to making sure we take bariatric supplements, not OTC/store brand but those vitamins formulated for those who have had WLS. Their preferred company is Bariatric Advantage and is as follows (basic plan):
*** Total of 1500 mg/day of calcium so you have to stick a couple calciums in between to get to 1500/day.
***Probiotic needs to be slipped into the day, also
Breakfast:
1 complete multi vitamin
500 mg calcium
Lunch:
1000mcg sublingual B-12 (or the weekly nasal or monthly shot)
500 mg calcium
Vitamin D 3
Dinner:
1 complete multi vitamin
500 mg calcium
Bedtime:
Iron not to be taken within two hours of calcium
women: 29mg
men: 18mg
Remember the calcium!
I'm curious to see the differences from doctor to doctor regarding vitamins.

I have been told NOT to take my multi and calcium together.
I have to take my vits with food or it isn't pretty.
I take B-12 Sub.
1 multi, biotin, Vit D, magnisium
After breakfast
After lunch:
Multi, zinc, Vit.D , B-1
Diner or before Bed:
2 calcium.. I have been told calcium helps you sleep good so that's why I take them late and the it is not with my multis.

oops! I did forget the probiotic, Mel! I actually am not even taking them until Tuesday. Dr. Acosta gave me 5 rx when I left the hospital, 3 of which I really have to take--the PPI, the steroid, the anti spasm so that's been my focus.
It's been so many years since I really took any pills (prior to being banded) that I think I am shy of it and the taste like kaka :) That sublingual stuff is nasty! I'm going to either get the shot or nasal. Ugh!
How are you feeling? back to work tomorrow? :)

*sigh* Yes, back to work tomorrow. I know that I can handle it....and I do love my job, I also know that getting ready for work and getting all bandaged and hiding my drain is not going to be fun. ha ha Oh well, Thursday, I get to say goodbye to my little friend!! Yay!!!
I am feeling pretty good. We walked around a lot yesterday, but I always pay for it at night. My ab muscles start feeling like they want to rip apart once I rest in the evening.
Eh, it gets me some extra loving attention from Enrique, so take the bad with the very good! ha ha ha
