I need to get more protein in.  What is your fav protein drinks and shakes and where do you get them?

I'm sure others won't like this suggestion because it's soy based, but the only protein drink I can handle on a daily basis is the Body By Vi brand protein drink. It comes in a sweet cream flavor, with flavor mix-ins you can add to it. I mix it with fat free milk. Sometimes I add a little frozen fruit to it (which I know adds some carbs, but it's a nice little change). It's a little on the sweet side, but I don't gag when I drink it and actually like it. I've tried lots of different brands/flavors and don't like any of them. I don't like a shake that gets foamy on the top and most of them seem to get that.

There are many places online you can purchase it, but I've been buying it on Amazon...

You might want to be be careful - a serving of this only has 12 g protein but comes with 7 g of carbs.  You mix that with one cup of milk, you've got a 180 calorie shake with 20 g of protein, and 19 g of carbs... at 50% protein, 50% carbs, it's not so much a "protein shake" anymore.  (Adding fruit, of course, will tip that moreso).

Like milk and egg, soy has a PDCAAS score of 1.0, so it's a great protein source.

I bought the Syntrax Fuzzy Navel nectar and tried it last week. I didn't like it either. I'll try it diluted more. I've also tried the Syntrax Cookies and Cream. Same problem. Whether it's the smell or taste I find most protein drinks make me gag. I realize the Body By Vi is higher in carbs when mixed with milk the way I do it, but I only drink 1 1/2 shakes a day and get the rest of my protein from food (lean meats, cheeses, eggs, and cottage cheese). I don't eat hardly any other carbs throughout the day, so getting 28 or so from my shakes is fine with me, plus almost half of my protein for the day. Where the different protein shakes make me sick to my stomach, I feel drinking this brand is better than not getting enough protein. I'd rather have a few more carbs in a day and get enough protein than not get enough protein in. I'm really hoping to be able to get all of my protein from foods soon so I don't have to drink any more shakes at all!

Thank you for your input though. Even with my higher carb shake, I'm able to stick around 40 carbs/day and most days get my 70 grams of protein in. I also stick between 700-800 calories per day.

I like Syntrax-brand Nectar shakes.  They are on the fruity side, rather than thick and chocolate or vanilla.  I actually add twice the amount of water to keep the taste real thin, and that helps me keep my water intake high anyway.

I buy from Amazon or Netrition or MyBariatricPantry or VitaCost depending on who has the best prices at the moment.  Right now MyBariatricPantry has 10% off $195 or more (or 15% off $289+, or 5% off $125+), so I was able to order 12 pounds of Syntrax Nectar for $184 when all was said and done - an average price of $30.59 per tub.

My protein drink of choice these days is the Unjury Chocolate Splendor powder mixed with unsweetened almond milk.
