I'm doing my bachelors in Gerontology and hope to do my Masters in Kinesiology. I'm always fascinated to see what options exist for working with people's bodies :)

Interesting article. I've found and read several similar articles on this subject. I always enjoyed going to my gym before my surgery because it's been a great social outlet for me over the years. Since surgery I have added different types of exercise to my weekly workouts which has had a big positive impact on my results.

It's important to give your body some time to rest and recover and I've noticed a increase in my energy after "rest" days. Balance is key.

I agree totally that balance is key.  I wouldn't be able to do the amount of exercise I do if it was all, say, running for example.  But because it's a broad mix of things that makes it sustainable :)

Great job, Gwen. The closer you get to goal, the more you will have to watch your calories, but I'm sure you know that.

Great job and what an improvement in exercise since we first met. I remember pple questioning why I would spend 2 hours training per day. I see you get it. Once you get to a certain level of fitness, you either maintain or push onward. I spend now about 2.5 hrs training at the gym, 4 days a wk. When not at gym I'm training on horseback for an hour then teaching riding/ mucking stalls, feeding 13 horses, grooming exercising the horses, whatever the day calls for on a farm it's labor intensive and great exercise. that can last from 1:30 - 6 pm. I totally get what you are doing. I just started my 3rd 100 mile challenge on Monday. It's great to challenge your body. Can't wait to get to the allergist on Friday to find out what else I'm  allergic too. I am falling way short of 60 grms protein a day. Keep up the good work

For what it's worth, I never saw people questioning why you were doing so much exercise, I saw people questioning why you were doing so much exercise when you were still healing from surgery because that can be dangerous.  

Definitely work on getting your protein up - can you eat tuna?  I find tuna pouches to be a great and portable source of protein.  Very easy to eat.
