tailbone pain after surgery

This is a bit embarrassing but I want to ask here before I go to the doctor.  After having lost 115 pounds I find that I have pain in (or on) my tailbone when I sit or lay down.  Is this because all that extra padding is gone or is it something I should be concerned with?  It isn't a boil or anything like that, the actual bone hurts.  Thanks for ANY feedback.

Yep, alot of people have that problem.  I broke my tailbone a year before my surgery, so I totally know where you're at.  I've lost 90lbs and I'm to the point of using a pillow.  All that fat had at least one positive.  who knew!

OMG I was going to post this exact thing!!!!  Ever since losing weight, my tailbone is so sore after sitting or lying down for awhile.  I was assuming it was because I didn't have all that padding anymore; but then what, does every skinny person's @ss  hurt ???? lol.  Maybe our bodies just need to adjust.  I just think it is so funny that someone posted this. Hope your @ss feels better soon!

I was going to ask some skinny people but thought I'd really get a funny look.  Thanks for the laugh and I hope all our a--es feel better soon.  I guess I'd rather a sore butt than the extra baggage anyday.

Oh yes, I have this problem too... especially on airplanes, I just cry...  ugh. I actually went to my doctor and she said there is nothing that can be done.... boooo.  She did tell me that those donut pillows help.  I have ended up having to adjust the way I sit on certain chairs.... leaning or crossing legs helps.  I do wish there was something else out there that helps.   WIshing you luck! ~Shannon

I am only 6 weeks out and I have some pain back there too. I thought I was just sleeping funny or something.  At least I know I am not crazy.
