OT: Outback Steakhouse

You may have seen the commercials on tv about Outback Steakhouse supporting the troops. How they want people to go into their restaurants to help support their efforts. I am not telling anyone to go or not to go.

However, I do want to say that during the 8 years I worked for the US military in Kuwait they came through several times to feed the troops. They flew in all the food and their own chefs and servers to feed the troops a great American meal. There were several military people that I spoke to that said that while they were in Iraq, Outback Steakhouse came up there to feed them. I have not heard from anyone that I know in Afghanistan yet but I have no doubts that they are there also.

Thanks-next time I am deciding where to take my family for a meal I will remember this post and chose Outback. I like the idea of giving back to the community.

I hadn't seen, or heard, anything about this.  I love Outback..  This just gives me another reason to like them.

Thanks

It's nice to see something more than lip service offered, for a change.  I will say that I've seen "Thank you for your service" 10% discounts popping up all over the place as I've been out and about, as well.  It's nice to see.

Thanks for the information.  I appreciate hearing about the good things we do for each other instead of just the bad things.  Not all corporations are EVIL.  Thanks again.

That is SO great to hear! We went to Outback last week for the first time in ages, and had an excellent meal! We were both blown away by the quality. Now we have another great reason to go back! I had the rack of lamb and I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. The blue cheese salad was ******ic.

Thanks Elizabeth for sharing..I wanted to add....where we were devastated and leveled by Hurricane Charley....Outback Steakhouse and Hooters both brought in food service trucks and chefs and fed all of us...there was no electricity down here for 5 weeks...it was nice to get a hot meal.

I have nothing but good things to say about both companies.
