Weight minimum to have DS

I too am just starting the process of considering WLS and seem to want the DS for your same reasons - once and done.  I also have a BMI of just over 35 after much dieting and working out minimally 4/5x per week.  I plan on paying for it myself by going to Mexico.  Though I'm a bit nervous about both the surgery and Mexico.

I'm trying to lose it on my own one last time before I pursue a DS. It's going very slow. I'm reading  all I can on DS  in case I decide to go that route. Good luck!

If you diet before DS, be specific, take photos and make food logs... Some drs and insurance will make you do it for a year, but if you have documentation, you may save time.

I too am in a similar situation.  I had the band in for 11 years and could never get the adjustment right and then started having problems with the port.  I've had it removed and now am looking into the DS, hoping to hear from insurance soon!  Let us know how you are doing and if you decide to seriously pursue it!  Take care : )

had my ds at bmi of 35.   rny was not a option, my sleeve is more like a pork chop as the fundi is wrapped around my esoph to prevent gerd. ds cures typ2,,  others mimic a cure just because your don't eat carbs,,, I eat plenty.
