Well surgery is all over and the Catheter, while not something I want done every day wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and I should have never gave it a second thought.I am down 25lbs since I started the pre-op diet and feeling great. I am actually glad I had it as I was pretty tore up after surgery and can't imagine getting up to take a leak. I was glad to lay right there and let it run into the bag. Funny thing I don't remember much about the recovery room but I do remember telling the nurse I was sorry as I had pissed my self, she said no honey you didn't you have a catheter in... lol I remember telling her that several times and feeling real bad about it. Oh well glad I didn't

First post to this type of thread, I am 2 days out from my VSG and been on a liquid diet for 2 weeks and now started my two day clear liquid pre-op diet. So here are the numbers:
HW- 285
Oct. 19th - 270
Oct 27th - 269
Nov 3rd - 259
Today - 256
Meet with Orthopedic Tuesday to see if I can get out of this damn walking boot. I tore some ligaments in my ankle during a spartan race so... hopefully I wont have that to deal with post surgery.

Ok guys, I will post this here and see if I get any response, if not will head over to the regular forum. All set for my surgery on Wed. not nervous at all, just sort of feeling weird about getting a catheter. Never had one before, I know they put it in when you are out but how bad is it when they pull that thing out of your pecker?

So was doing a little cyber stalking..lol As I sit here in front of my computer at work waiting for the day to end or start depending on who you are. I work 11pm - 8am at a data center in Nashville, TN. I came across a post of yours in which you say you went to Michigan Tech I believe it was. It is a small world I went to Lake Superior State, since you were a yooper for a while anyways... you will understand my next questio... Are pasties out of the question? I have a friend who lives down in TN as well but she is from Escanaba and makes killer pasties.... Anyways thanks for the reply.

So I posted a little while ago introducing my self, thanks to those *****plied. I have been quiet since then just going through the motions of getting all the check boxes checked. My Dr. did a scope on my stomach to see what he had to work with and found a small tumor (golf ball size) so he wanted to get rid of that and did.. Fun fun fun, not a big deal no cancer or anything to worry about. Since then I have met with the dreaded "headshrinker" (not that I don't like them but I am a semi private person who will talk with his family if I have a problem type of guy) saw her twice then another time to take a PHI test. I get the fact that the Ins company wants to make sure you are going to take this serious and not be a waste of money for them... but you would think after the first meeting with the "headshrinker" if they are any good they would be able to tell that instead of follow up after follow up then some stupid test to see if you are depressed, again they should be able to tell after the first meeting. grumble grumble enough venting. I have met with my regular Dr. twice for my 3 month supervised diet and meet with him one more time on the 14th. Then I think I am all done with the pre-requisitions I meet with my doctor on Monday and see where we go from here, hopefully schedule my sleeve end of March. Not really excited or worried just ready to get it done and get back to a healthier me. What are your experiences with getting back to the gym or starting to work out again after surgery? I have a spartan sprint in Sept to get ready for and would like to start training for that as soon as I can but don't want to mess anything that the Dr. does. Guess I will ask him on Monday. Anyways will update with more info later on. See ya

Well decided to post for the first time today. I have been thinking about getting the surgery for a few years now and after a long talk with my regular doctor I decided it would be the best thing for me. I am planning on getting the sleeve as soon as I can. I went to the first meeting a few weeks ago, didn't really learn anything new (both my parents have had the bypass surgery and I have done a lot of research on this) But it is the required so it I did it, I now meet with the Dr. this morning to discuss the next steps. I am looking forward to this next part of my life. Getting back to a healthier me. So hey to all
