A little disappointed

I understand that scheduling surgery affects work, family life, etc. Everyone on here has had to deal with childcare, cleaning the house before surgery, feeding family members, figuring out the drive to and from the hospital. It is a logistical nightmare for most.

It is a long wait and that is the downfall of having our healthcare paid for. Remember this is still elective surgery.

Everything will work out in the end. For example they cancelled and forgot to reschedule my surgeon's appointment that dropped me back a month. But then I was able to pick my surgery date that worked the best for my work schedule.

And if you want to talk about wait times. I had to wait 6 months to see a specialist, another month to get a procedure, and 2 months for the follow up. They only have day time appointments so I've had to miss 3 work days for one little medical issue.

Hi,

Ontario lets you talk in MONTHS.  Other provinces you would only be talking in YEARS.

Believe me, you are very fortunate and you will be OK

Hi Sandra I am sorry to hear you'll have to wait and it will mess with your contract work. Could you call your centre and ask to be put on the cancellation list? Might move your surgery up by a bit if they can indeed put you on the list. Hope all goes well and let us know how you get on. xxoo

Thank you for the support and its nice to know that others feel the same way when your in a rut.  I've been in touch with another agency and they are being very supportive and will find me the work I need till I can have my surgery.

I'm in the same position Sandra. It is hard to be waiting and not know when things are going to happen. I also have work deadlines and other things that will have an effect on when I can get surgery. I certainly appreciate it being paid for and getting the opportunity to have the surgery but it is hard waiting.
