Gold star for a job well done? or new shoes?
You should definitely reward yourself. I started a Pandora bracelet before surgery. I purchased a glass bead and one silver bead called "journey" during my pre-op phase. I now purchase a new glass bead for every 25 pounds I have lost. I have my original glass bead I got, then my 25 and my 50 pound glass beads on it. I'm hoping to get my 75 pound bead by the end of next week - 5 pounds away. :) It gives me something to look forward to for hitting my milestones and every time I look at the bracelet I'm reminded of how hard I'm working and that it does add up.
Good luck!
Breaking 240 after long, grinding stall--fake nails in copper and cobalt.
Breaking 220, if it ever happens--get my scraggly, raggedy-azz hair cut. If it ever grows back, which I doubt, I'm getting it colored purple again.
Onederland...my Promised Land--fly to see my grandkids in Chicago, with no seatbelt extender.
Hey, thanks for the reward reminders and ideas!
Such good ideas! Congrats on the weight loss. I am just beginning my journey with ;ap band to RNY on 1/4/13 and 2013 is my year to get healthy.
I will have to think about what I can give myself to remind me what I have accomplished and where I never want to be again! The Pandora idea is wonderful but I do not wear bracelets and have a ton of jewelry. I am 60, so I am at the stage of giving things away!
Perhaps I will make a large size bead chain for the wall by my computer, using different beads for special milestones. It would be something I would see every day and be a reminder to keep on track as I am on my journey and as a piece of art when I am done.
Blessings!
Lynn
I LOVE the bracelet idea. Will start googling now.
My dream is to do the Disney Princess Half-Marathon at Disney World. It's in February/March every year, so thats where I am hoping to celebrate my 1 year surgeversary in 2014.
