Growing up, we were so poor that when I wanted new underwear, I had to swap with my brother.

My grandfather talked about the old bachelor who every six months turned his undershirt inside out and said how great it felt to be clean again.

I knew I guy that before going to bed would take off his undershirt, stand it up in the corner, and put it on the next day.

One thing I did do was buy reality pants. I know this sounds silly. But we can lie to ourselves when we put on clothes that has some stretch to them.

I bought a pair of jeans that have no  stretch in them. So I call them my reality pants. Some jeans can give you the stretch of a size.

I make sure to wear them if I go out to dinner. Thanksgiving I will wear them also.

Oddly while I did go below my goal weight then back above by about 5lbs I've stayed the same size.  The clothes I was wearing at 140 are the same clothes I wear at 155.  I did have skin removed and a tummy tuck. I was really worried about regain and I keep a good eye on it but I don't forget to consider how my clothes feel as well and my measurements as my weight can change by nearly 5-7lbs over the course of a weekend based on what I am doing.   Really long hiking trips I tend to drop a bunch of weight. Then a few days after it will pop back even a lb or two from what I was then it settles back down.

I buy relatively cheap clothes. Because of working in a professional place I don't feel comfortable wearing baggy clothes - I need my clothes to fit to feel like I'm making a decent impression every day.

I've been trying to wear within a size of where I should be in my pants. And when it's too far off I can tell, the crotch area in particular looks super saggy and it's not attractive lol. My tops I can get away with longer but I always feel better and more confident if my clothes fit. I've gone through a lot of sizes but have been going through them more quickly the smaller I get.

I've been selling the bigger sizes but plan on keeping the smaller sizes around since I can wear them around the house. I guess it just depends on what size I end up. I'm already 17 pounds under my goal - I am intending on keeping the most recent sizes for a bit until I am at my final weight for more than a few months so I can try to see if I am going to lose any more. Then I plan on keeping only within 1 size of me for the pants for potential bounceback.
