Anyone have calorie guidelines for each stage?

Hi All-

I am almost 4 months out and I am trying to plan a head. Does anyone know what the calorie guidelines are at each stage? I often read about ppl not eating enough and that causing stalls.

How many calories & ounces per meal at:

4 months
6 months
8 months etc?

Thanks so much!

My guidelines were not based on calories until six months out. Prior to that it was get in your 60 grams protein (based on my age/height by surgeon),water and vitamins. At six months it was increased to 800-1200 calories per day.  I am generally around 1,000 right now at 10 months.  I expect more info will happen when I get to my one year appointment. Hope this helps,
Inky

You will get a thousand answers for this - it really depends on surgeon/nuts preference as well as how much you had bypassed. Typically those with more bypassed require more (typically, not always)... I would check with patients of your surgeon to see what guidelines they were given. Here were my guidelines 4 months 1/2-3/4thcu meals cal - 600-800 fat - 30 protein - 70-80g carbs - 60-70g 6 months 1-1.5cu meals cal 800-1000 fat 30 protein 60-80g carbs 70-80g After that it was more on my own, I wasnt to see my NUT again until I hit goal or hit 1 year out. I saw my NUT at 11 months out after a 2 month plateau and was changed to this 1.5-2cu meals cal 900-1100 fat 30 protein 60-80g carbs 90-100g That is how I currently eat still.... the maintenance plan is as follows, I have yet to switch 1.5-2cu meals cal 1000-1200 fat 30 protein 60-80g carbs 100-110g

Wow ... SO HELPFUL!!!  :-) I have a real issue with my surgeon's nutritionist.  They will NOT give me a guideline for anything .. i.e. no numbers.  The "only" thing they go by is the amount and type of food.  But there is no recommendation for amount of protein grams, carbs, fat .... anything!! When I started whining about my protein being lucky to get at 40 grams, they said that's GREAT!  I was shocked .. because reading on here, everything is like, minimum 60, 80 better, try for a 100!  When I told that to my nutritionist, they said wow - that's too high.  You'd be fine with 30. So, I keep count of my cals and protein ...  but not yet carbs or fat.   At 8 weeks out, I'm around 400-500 cals, and I'm still lucky if I hit 55 grams of protein.  (That's the other thing - my nutritionist does not want us having any protein shakes.  We're supposed to be getting all our protein from real food - meat, fish, cottage cheese...) Anyhow - just thought I'd compare notes! Cheers, Marie

Getting my Nuts to give me calorie guidelines is like trying to nail jello to a tree, but the 30% fat, 30% carb, 40% protein model's been okay. I am at 850 cals at almost 8 months out and that's where they want me to stay.
