Hey, I'm with you. It took five years of weekly therapy, then five years of 4-times-a-week analysis before I concluded the same thing. I know that pain. HUGS!

I am Pre-Op but I will share a tip that my Nutritionist shared with me, which I though was a great idea to help me now, but to prepare for whats coming.  When going out to eat, ask for a to-go box along with your meal.  As soon as you meal arrives, I take half of everything, and put it into the to-go box.  I'm suppose to take it home for lunch or dinner the next day, however most of the time I just throw it out (I know, it's wasteful).  The Nut said that this will help post Op when I have to eat out and need to stay within my Sleeve size.  Just leave on the plate what you can eat, and put the rest in the to-go box for future meals.

Thank you!

What shall I return to the Lord for all his bounty to me?

I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord,  I will pay my vows to the Lord in the presence of all his people. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful ones.

O Lord, I am your servant; I am your servant, the child of your serving girl. You have loosed my bonds. -- Psalm 116:12-16

One of the things that helps me is to be very mindful when I'm eating.  So I only eat at the table.  No eating at the desk or the couch.  Just the table.  With a placemat, napkin, etc.  I measure my 3oz. and that's what I get.  This has been working well for me!

I'm totally busted - I still eat in front of the TV sometimes altho I know it is not good for me. And just today I finished eating, and I was still sitting on the couch ... and in my mind 'couch' and 'food' go together and my mind started to wander back to wanting a second helping!!!

Now if I would eat at the table, and reinforce "food = table," then when I am done I can just get up from the table and move on with the rest of my life! (like someone said above)

Thanks for helping me see this!

You're very welcome!  I know that the couch has always been a location for mindless/distracted eating so... sticking to the table was really a good change for me to make.  I hope it's good for you too!
