3 WEEKS OUT AND A BIT DEPRESSED TODAY
You will never be prepared, and you will be disappointed. the scale sucks LOL! Its how you navigate through those times which is what's important. That's why its SO important to take pictures in clothes and take measurements. I never did that and totally wish I did! I have one picture from 2 weeks before my surgery from benihana with my husband and girls. I then have another picture from my birthday back in September at benihana....totally change!
Don't mean to be a Debbie downer...I still crave for substance in food. I was just telling my husband last night how I wish I could dive into a plate of pasta and not get full off of four rigatonis..but guess what! I love the feeling of fitting into a size 8 even more!
It is totally normal to feel the way you do. I thought I had escaped "the stall" because I breezed by week 3, but it hit me in week 5. I went 2 weeks with no loss. The thing to remember is that even though the numbers are not going down, your body is still changing. It will begin again just hang in there. Congratulations on 30 pounds in 3 weeks, that is incredible!
I had a lot of regret too, but now I'm 3 months out and feeling great. I'm so happy I made this choice. 30 lbs in 3 weeks is incredible!! Good job! The third day after my surgery I really wanted to eat just one Cheerio. I just wanted to crunch on something. I resisted, but I was thinking the same things as you, I want to eat something!! But now, 3 months out, I do eat stuff. I ate a tiny bite of the most delicious dessert ever. It was tiny, but so fabulous. The other day I had pizza. It was thin crust, and I only had a few bites of the crust, but again, so delicious. So, for me, I thought about what was going to happen in the future. Life isn't always going to be eggs and protein shakes. It gets better. And when it does, you start to feel fantastic, you buy new clothes, you have people mention how great you are looking, and you realize it has all been worth the effort and sacrifice. Good luck to you! Keep up the good work!
My advice is to add a therapist to your Obesity Recovery Team. The surgery fixes our stomachs, but we're got to do the hard work to fix our heads.
It sounds like you're doing really well aside from the brain, though. :) So keep up the hard work, follow your plan, and you'll be great! Just take some time to work on the head as well.

There aren't any options for therapists in my area that specialize in disordered eating or WLS, so I just worked to find a therapist I clicked with since, based on my experience with therapy, that's really the key to beneficial therapy. I'm super happy with mine and she really helps me to unpack the stuff in my head.
