What do you know about Behavior Change?

It's a hot topic in weight loss.....That diets don't work and it's a LIFESTYLE CHANGE that includes more consistent behaviors that cause a person to lose weight and (harder yet) keep the weight off.

But change is HARD! We've learned and repeated specific behaviors for YEARS that have led to having too much body fat and a weight that is less than ideal for our health. We've learned behaviors and habits from our parents, friends and co-workers that only increase our likelihood for staying overweight and then we're told or we learn that we need to change these habits!

As our first post I'd like to focus on behavior change. What's a behavior that you've been able to change and how did you do it?

What was MOST helpful to you in changing your behavior?

Did you change HOW you eat (how often; eating breakfast; eating slower; smaller portions, etc)

Did you change WHAT you eat (more veggies, whole grains, fruits, low fat diary)

Did you change your schedule to exercise or move more?

Share with the group what you know about how changing a behavior worked for you or even didn't work for you!
