My Story I have been over weight for my entire life. My first realization that I was different was in third grade when my mom put me on Weight Watchers and sent me with a frozen dinner to school everyday for the lunch ladys to heat up for me. It has been a battle from that day forward. I have been on every diet you can imagine and have exercised on and off since I was 22. I have done the 60 mile Avon walk and trained for 6 months with only 2-3 pounds lost. I have done a Danskin sprint distance triathalon, trained for almost a year and lost only 2-3 pounds. I diet almost every day of my life. I will lose 10lbs and then gain 15 back. And now I am as heavy as when I was 9 months pregnant with my son. 40 BMI and boarder line for qualifing. This year I was diagnosed with MS and my activity level has greatly decreased due to my numbness, tingling and weakness in my extremities. I started investigating WLS last year because I need a tool to help me get control. Now I know this is what I need to do to stay mobile and active with MS. I have started the 6 month nutrition/exercise and phsy. eval required by my insurance prior to submitting paper work. I am hoping I am doing everything correctly. I will submit in March of 2007. |
