A door closed, but a window opened

Hiya, everyone!

I had my surgery on December 23rd, as planned, and so far, so good.  I got wheeled into the OR right before 9:45 a.m., and the last thing I remember about being in there was someone putting an oxygen mask on my face, and asking me to take a
few deep breaths.  After that, I woke up in the recovery room! :)

I'm sore, and a still a bit gassy (especially up in the chest area), but I haven't taken anything but liquid Tylenol for pain since I've been home.  I had to prop myself upright in order to get comfortable in bed last night, but I still got a pretty decent sleep.  The kids got us up right after 7:00 to open presents, and after some MINOR cleanup on my part (before the hubs shooed me out of the living room to make me go lie back down), I went back to bed to rest for a bit longer.

The thing that's the weirdest so far is that I don't feel physically hungry....until there's food in my face.  I went downstairs to my mom's house last night, and she, my sister, and two of my nieces had ordered Chinese food.  Just the smell made me want to eat something (of course, I did NOT), but once I went back upstairs, the hungry feeling completely went away.  The hubs got a hankerin' for Chinese after we left, so he ordered some takeout for himself, and I asked him to get me a bowl of wonton soup, and take all the stuff out, and give me just the broth.  I think I had maybe two spoonfuls of it, and didn't want any more!

I'm trying to figure out what it is to feel "full" now.  I don't ever feel that feeling, and I don't want to overdo it and wind up vomiting.  So, I'm slowly eating the Jello, and drinking the shakes, or water, or tea.  I hope I'm doing all this "right".

Anyway... I wanted to give you guys a brief update, and let you know that the surgery is over and done with.  Now, the true adventure begins!

P.S. - I have to say, I stepped on the scale yesterday, and all but freaked out when it showed I'd gained TEN pounds!  But, as of my last weigh in today, I've dropped eight pounds in one day!   Guess I was swollen and full of water
