Surgeon Testimonial

Bernadine Hanna M.D.
Dr. Bernie Hanna is wonderful! He has a great personality and sense of humor. His surgical competence is remarkable and he has a great bedside manner. You definately can tell he truly cares about his patients. It's not often you find a doctor who takes the time to answer all your questions and make sure you are comfortable with your surgery and the lifestyle changes that are needed to be successful. His office staff are always friendly and extremely helpful. He has support group meetings every other month which I find quite informative and helpful. Meeting Dr. Hanna and his staff has truly been a blessing!

Hi everbody! I'M FINALLY HOME and taking my seat on the LOSER'S BENCH! WOO-HOO!! Surgery was 11/3 and it went perfectly. It started a little late, but my doctor said it was perfect without any complications. The only real issue was that I was scheduled to come home yesterday, but they kept me because my oxygen was a little low and they wanted to test for bloodclots in my lungs or legs, but none were found. I just need to expand my lungs by doing deep breathing excercises for the next week. OH, but there WAS AN INCIDENT at the hospital.. One of the nurses brought me my meds the day after surgery in tablet form and when I told her it should be smashed she kept insisting that it was ok and to take it.. so be being "trusting" went ahead... luckily it didn't hurt me, but it felt stuck for quite some time.... Needless to say, my doctor and the director moved her to some other dept. geesh!!

"Onederland", where are you???
posted on 2/21/10 4:30 pm

Hi everyone! Well, what can I say. It seems it's taken forever to FINALLY hit 200lbs! Thank you Lord, I'm truly grateful. Because without the surgery I would not have accomplished this goal. I keep hitting plateaus and when I met for my follow up with my surgeon on Thursday, weight 204 lbs, he determined I was getting too many calories which was slowing my weightloss. I had decided to increase my protein shakes because I've been losing alot of hair. What I didn't realize is that I had increased my calorie intake as well. So, I cut back on the meals and kept the protein shakes and increased my water and exercise.. and POOF!... I dropped those 4 lbs and hit 200!! woo-hoo!! .  So, just to keep the scale moving downward, I did 45 mins on the treadmill this morning and will do my best to workout 5 times this week. Hopefully, I'll not only get to "Onederland", but maybe even drop to 195 lbs..

It's all about ATTITUDE, right??  Instead of "I think I can.. I think I can.." It will now be I KNOW I can.. I KNOW I can.. "

Please wish me luck!

   I love my RNY!!
