1st weigh-in
on November 17, 2010 3:53 pm
I didn't want to weigh -in until I had at least a week of my new diet and gym time. Things were lloking good until my sister got into town, I love her, but in our family we only ever meet up over a meal. The family that eats together stays together. At least she likes Thai food, not nearly as bad as a greasy spoon diner. Anyways here it is.......

I lost 5 pounds over the last 7 days.

Not biggest loser territory, but then again, I didn't have Jillian there to keep me goin. I'll take it. Only 145 more to go................

Small steps.

My Story

Most people have bad memories of high school, but it was the last time I was truly happy. I weighed about 230 pounds, played hockey and soccer, and had a great girlfriend. When I graduated and she left to go away to school, I dealt with it poorly. I gained over 50 pounds my first year in college and, surprise!, she came home and dumped me. I took it poorly and kept gaining weight. I have not a had a meaningful relationship in years and I am afraid if I don't lose weight soon, I may die. I have all your classic weight related problems (high-blood pressure, high cholesterol, gout and I suffered a DVT 2 years ago). I have always had people who complained about my weight but I've never had a support group, and I am one of those people who need positive reinforcement from time to time. I hope I meet someother people on this site, who have a story like mine. Power in numbers. Anyway, I can't afford Lap-Band surgery now, but I'm going to try old-school working out unti I can get someone to cut me open and put a zip-tie around my tummy.
I hope to finish college in the spring, and when I walk up to get my degree, I want to look healthy. Time to get to work!
