I am so glad I had the surgery!!!
Feb 04, 2012
2/4/2012I am 2 days shy of beng 2 months post-op (surgery 12/6/11).
I feel great! I am losing well (2-3 lbs per week) and I honestly feel like this is the best thing I have ever done for myself! In total, including the little bit I lost before surgery - I am down over 45 lbs. Wow!! I can;t believe I am already down 2 full pants sizes.
I have followed my doctor's instructions about food pretty striclty from the beginning. I am able to reach my protein goals easily as long as I have at least one protein supplement drink each day. I get full fast and I have adjusted to that pretty well so I am really careful about what I east first. I haven't even tried sugar (or anything with any processed sugars of any kind) - so I am still not sure whether or not I would have a dumping issue. I have actually no desire to find out. I have had some higher fat foods (cream soups, crab cakes as examples) - and they didn't bother me although
The only thing I am struggling with is the liquids. I am really trying to increase my liquid intakes to at least 64 oz each day and that is a struggle for me. I know the key is to always have water with me - and I am working on it. I wasn't a good drinker before surgery so now I am really bad!
The other challenge I am not doign well with is the exercise thing. I still do not have any interest whatsoever in exercising. Since I am losing well without it, I wonder if it is such a bad thing that I am not so focussed on that yet. I know I will have to exercise eventually. I am walking some now - I actually walk quite a bit in my job (I am in sales). So, if you have any wisdom on this topic - please feel free to leave me a note!
Thanks for reading my blog. I wish you the very best in your personal journey!
