Help! Need to lose weight and quit smoking

ive tried many avenues to lose weight HCG, Medifast. It's great for those it worked for but for me I lost gained back and gained some more. I'm now here on my journey, planning on getting gastric bypass surgery. I need to quit smoking and lose about 40 lbs before I schedule my surgery early part of 2015. Any help/advice would be appreciated.
