The anticipation is more than I can bear!!

On a not-so-good note.....my husband works in the auto industry & of course they're being hit SUPER hard with the economy & now the unfortunate disaster in Japan & Toyota closing all 12 of their plants there. His employer has already told them that they are looking at 1 week UNPAID shut-down over Memorial Day (not too bad because thats when I'm due to have surgery & we're both ok with that), another 2 weeks UNPAID over the July 4th holiday & who knows how much more.  It's making him a total stress case & I feel so bad but as I told him - this is NOT within our control & all we can do is make the best of it.  He has vacation time available he might be able to use to absorb some of the unpaid time off but it just sucks that it has to go to that.  He's been with this company for almost 18 yrs now & sadly the past few years have been extremely rough there.  The worst part of all of this is that we're also going through bankruptcy - due to the lovely economy & having a mortgage of approximately $240k on a house that isn't even worth $90k now - the lender won't consider any type of modification due to the fact we make too much money! I'd like to know how they figure that since I have been off work for a different issue & my employer hasn't paid me in almost 3 months now! (That's a whole 'nother issue that I'm battling!)  He said he feels horrible that he let this happen & he feels like he has let us down.  I've reassured him that he did not cause any of this on his own free will so he has no reason to feel this way!  So what if we have to start all over - at least we have each other & our son and we are NOT the only people going through this.  Oh.....I'm also a full-time student on top of all of this! whew!
