6 Months Post-Op

Apr 01, 2010

Well...6 months surely goes by fast. I find that things are getting into a routine. I'm enjoying my exercise routine and am sticking with it religiously. I keep hearing what my surgeons nurse said to me before I was rolled in to surgery...dedicate 30 minutes to exercise every day...and I do. I'm still learning what I can eat and what I can't. Still no bread, rice, or pasta. I'm getting use to not having them, but boy do I miss my Diet Pepsi!!! But as my NUT says "we don't have surgery to stay the same". So for now I can do without the pop. ( But I probably will try some when I'm closer to a year out)

I have been at a stall for the past month. The scale hovers between 174-178 and I'm doing my best not to weigh on it more than once a week. That is easier said than done! But, like everyone says, I'm still losing inches even if the scale doesn't move. My clothes are still getting looser. Yeah!!  I even bought some size 10 work slacks that fit! That's a first for me : )

I still get a little nervous when eating out. The not knowing if somethings not going to work gives me the willies. But heck...so far everything has been fine as long as I pay attention to how it's prepared.

Life is great!! I can't wait for summer to get here so I can go do some hiking and kayaking in my new healthy and trim body!!
