Surgeon Testimonial

Toby Broussard, M.D.
My primary physician talked to me about going to the Weight Wise clinic and checking into WLS. I was ready for a big change this time so after reviewing the website completely, (I even watched the bypass surgery video) I signed up for a seminar. It took me two tries to follow through with actually going to the seminar. First impressions, I kid you not, I was thrilled with the extra wide chairs. Dr. Broussard is very candid about everything you will go through before and after surgery. There is no sugar coating here. It took me a few more weeks to make my first appointment because I'm a heavy thinker and I had to wrap my brain around all the things I'd be giving up and what I would gain. First actual office visit, he is very straight forward. I have who I like to refer to as the Stephanie's as my patient advocate and dietician. I actually felt encouraged rather than schooled after being here. I have a little ways to go before my body is ready for surgery but I am enjoying the ride.

3 Weeks Post-Op
posted on 3/21/12 4:26 pm
I've lost about 137 lbs. Thats 23 lbs since surgery. I've been on the soft food phase for a week now. I can only eat about 1/4 cup of food right now if I'm lucky. I've been doing pretty good getting all my fluids in, although this week I've been at the office a lot and it's easy to get distracted. Where before surgery I had purchased a nice 32oz Contigo water bottle, I now find myself going back to bottles where I can use a straw. It is so much easier to sip constantly with a straw to get those fluids in. I'm going to have to invest in new bottles. I may stick with what I have.

I am enjoying the journey and I hope you are too.
