Sleep Test = No Sleep
Jun 15, 2010
Well Sunday night I went for my sleep test. I didn't really know what to expect although I was warned to use dish detergent to get the goop out my hair the next morning. When I arrived, at 8pm, I was already tired and they wanted me to hang out for a bit while they go everyone situated. I spent some time reading although there was a tv if I'd wanted to watch it. (my book was more intersting)The Tech came by and got me all hooked up. I knew about the noods on your head. But I wasn't anticipating the stuff on my face or the wires in my nose. That just tweaked me and made my poor nose run. LOL I generally wear my hair in a pony tail when I go to bed so the Tech put everything upfor me. I took a look in the mirror before I went to bed and I swear I looked like a cyborg. Just call me 7 of 9.
Well I'm sure you can guess by my title that there was very little sleep to be had for this chicky that night. I just couldn't fall asleep. I eventually did since they did get data but I'll tell you I spent more time playing ET phone home. I have this heart monitor on my Left index finger. I just kept entertaining myself by dancing it around in the dark. Yes I know I'm 34 not 4. But hey I sure wasn't sleeping.
The next morning I was told that I'd get verbal results in about a week. This morning I get a phone call (yep that was 26hrs later) I've been diagnosed with Sleep Apnea and I have to go back in a little over a week for a 2nd test. Part of me is glad and part of me is trepidatious. While I appreciate that I now have a co-morbity
Of course the newly married part of me is saying..."Gee well that's just super sexy. hey hunny check this out you get to sleep with darth vadar's sister."
Well tomorrow is my Psych Profile... Should I bring a box of tissues?
