Thank goodness for Flex time

This week is a bit chaotic.  I felt as if I was running hither, dither and yon.

I went back for the First of my 6 week Phscy "one-one" sessions on Tuesday.   Honestly, I wasn't looking forward to it.  I had viewed the Eval as such a devastating road block, but with time comes a little perspective.  While I didn't nessecarly feel that the two part day session was a good indication of who I am, I can see the benefit of slowing down and taking the longer road.  The Councilor that I saw was very kind and put my mind at ease, that's not to say that I've got the green light that I wanted but I'm not so resistant to the idea of talking everything out. I've used therapy in the past for critical mass situations and have found it extremely helpful, so I fully intend to use this as another TOOL in my arsenal of my WLS journey.

It's going to be a bit time consuming as the appointments have to be made mid-day and will interfere with my work schedule (its a 2 hr round trip from my office)  but so far I have not had to provide more than a verbal explanation for Doc appointments. My bosses seem content as I've been doing split shifts and weekend work to make up the time and complete projects. (heck I'm still logging OT... go figure)

Thursday was my Day from HELL as I called it but I made it threw.  I had my first Nutritionist apt.  (30min south)  I was such a doffus and forgot to get my medical referral prior to.  Heck I don't even know if my insurance covers those visits.  WE'll see when I get the bills I guess.  The funny thing is, for all the money I have to spend on these appointments, I view as the best bang for my buck.  I really like the idea of talking to someone about food.  I'm very much lacking some common knowledge and got some great info just in that first session.  Then it was off to work (an hour drive north)

Later that day I attended my second WLS support group at Roger William Hospital (45min drive south).  I very much like this group.  Everyone is so very willing to share their stories and any information that might be helpful.  From there I had to scamper to my second and hopefully finally Sleep study night (20 min west).  Ughh... what an uncomfortable but apparently more restful night sleep I can't remember.

I'm really going to have to LEARN to use the CPAP mask once I get my own.  It was a tough going.  The Tech gave me 3 different masks to try.  I suppose eventually I'll find one that works most comfortably but... man...  if it wasn't for the fact that I've didn't have an afternoon crash and woke up actually somewhat rested for the first time in years, I'd be refusing service.  But in just that one usage it's proven it's self...  Sigh...  Welcome home Darth Vadar-ett. (a 45 min drive home)

So after leaving the house on Thursday morning at 7am I finally returned 24hrs later and 3/4 of a tank of gas less.  Who said Rhode Island was the smallest state didn't have to criss-cross it multiply times in one day.   Of course so many other people have to drive significantly longer distances, I guess it's just a matter of perspective.
