SO I remember... what I felt that day

Sep 22, 2010

Well apperently things have been going to well.  I have/had a surgery date of Oct 26th.

Today I wanted to veriefy a few things and tie up a couple of loss ends about how the Anethesa will be billed.  After many conversation with many different reps over the last 5 months I was told TODAY that while they cover my Doc and they cover WLS they will not cover the Hospital at which the surgery was to be performed.

ARE YOU F'EN KIDDING ME....

This is the only facitly that this Doc works out of.
This hospital is cover for other Surgeries.
The hospital is the only one in my state that meets all the guidlines for Baratic Surgery set by said insurance company.  (it's a little F'en state RI)

Iv'e been in tears for the last 2 hours.  I've called my hubby who asked if we could afford to pay out of pocket for it.  (nope)  I've called the surgeouns office but the Office Manager only did a half day this morning.  (they call back tomrrow)  I've put in a call to my HR director, but she's a lunch.

Some how I need to make it threw the rest of today while I feel like everything was just ripped out from under me.  Irony is I just have my Therapy season this morning.  Ha

****Follow UP***
I called everyone I could think of that day. Including Julie Nolan who is one of thethe group leader for the a support group here in RI.  Turns out my HR person was able to chase down the people at the Insruance company and find out why they were wanking me around.  Apprently the person that I spoke with was not knowledgeable about the New England state hopping that can happend.  While I live in MA all my docs including my PCP are RI so I'm eligable to have and use Dr G and RWH.
I now have a Participating Status # to reference incase of future Kurfluffles.

Sighh... That is not a day I wish to repeat.
