I am alive :0)

Ugh, where do I even begin. I'll try to do this as well as I possibly can and as in depth as I possibly can. I went into surgery on Wednesday, April 28th, I dont remember much about it other than these things on my legs that kept blowing up, kinda felt like I was a rocket ready for take off..lol.  I spent 2 days in Intensive Care Unit, apparently in the middle of surgery my O2 stat went down to the low 70's, not something the Dr likes to see, so he kept me a little longer in ICU. I did get up that 2nd evening and did ALOT of walking, with oxygen of course, I thought I did very well.  My ICU nurses were the absolute BEST! Those ladies were amazing! They were so great to my friends and my son and my hubby.  My hubby, OMG! He was amazing throughout the whole ordeal. Finally, on the 3rd evening, I was able to move to a private room, got there, got settled in and went for a walk.  I will say this, had it NOT been that my husband was there, I probably would've NEVER gotten anything from those D*&^n nurses! Worthless is all I have to say about the nurses and aides on that floor. I kept pushing the nurse button, over and over and over again, I needed pain med, because by this time, they had taken the morphine away. Noone ever came.  Finally my hubby got pissed off and walked up and asked if any nurses or nurse aides worked here and why are my calls not being answered, is the button broke or what? Anyway, without my hubby there with me, I think I would've just been in complete pain and been ready to kill myself..lol...So, I went to have my swallow test, UGH, the worst part! come on now Radiologist Tech's, don't they teach you guys how to help a patient who has had major surgery lay on a totally flat surface that won't lift a little, its a little hard, especially when you have to use your stomach muscles, anyway, the swallow test I passed, no leaks or anything of that sort.  I am home, finally! Alot of resting and getting up and walking, with oxygen of course, went to my 1 week ckup and everything was fine..ok, noone said anything about coming home with a J Tube, UGH! I came home with one and was super unhappy but got that crap taken out, then I felt like i could breathe and walk a little better.  I can't lift more than 10 lbs, so my hubby or son have to help me walk and carry my oxygen tank. I've been drinking water, broth and my protein shakes, There was a few episodes of when I was drinking my crystal lite, I had this thing where I couldnt breathe, I was gasping for air, then I through up alot of foamy I don't know what, but I decided, well, I won't have that anymore, I also noticed that if I'm laid back more than 30 degrees, it happens again.  When I went to eat a couple of baby spoons of jello, it happened again, so no jello, popscicle, happened again.  Right now, I'm on ice chips, water, protein shakes and chicken broth.  Talked to my Doc about it, and he says to steer clear of those things, had nausea, of course, he prescribed something for that, seems to work fine.  Pain meds, oh my goodness! LIFESAVER! Let's see, not really a heck of alot going on, OH! I have been EXTREMELY emotional, i mean EXTREMELY! I'd say I will probably talk to him about that next appt.
Oh yes, the night before my surgery, as I was getting packed and all, my stupid ass battery to my camera went kaput! and Best Buy wasn't open the next morning at 5:00 a.m. I still haven't been able to get there, but I will.  I really thought I was going to be able to blog right away, however, with all the bumps in the road, I have been unable to until NOW :0) If I think of anything else, I will let you guys know. Thanks for the messages and your kindness.  Have a great day! :0)
