More waiting :(

ok so i'm still waiting......spoke with Star who handles all the insurance stuff for my surgeon 2 days ago.  She told me she was calling BCBS to submit the paperwork that they needed to approve me.  Well here it is 2 days later and no reply back from Star.  I left her a VM earlier today and of course no reply.  I hate to be a bother, but i need to know whats going on.  So monday i'll be calling and calling until i get in touch with her.  I've been super stressed out since this whole process started.  I just want a surgery date so i can breath a little bit easier.

Denied....

I couldn't wait any longer, so i call BCBS to find out myself what was going on.  DENIED!  The reason sounds like a paperwork issue......they say they didn't receive documentation from my surgeon stating that i was educated on post op care.  And i wasn't....my surgeon sets up a class specifically for post op care once the insurance company has APPROVED my sugery.  So what do i do?  maybe my surgeon can set me up with the class and then resubmit the paperwork to BCBS.  I also go the results back from my sleep test today.   Mild sleep apnea is what i have.  So maybe that will help me as well when the paperwork is resubmitted.  Sigh.....it just sucks that i've done everything they've asked for.....sleep test, psych evaluation, 5yrs of obesity records, bloodwork.....I have a BMI of 43.5.....i thought that would have been enough......But i still will try to remain positive

The waiting is killing me!

It's been 2 weeks and i'm still waiting to hear back from my insurance company.  The waiting is killing me!  I've done everything else, but found out i have mild sleep apnea which im hoping will not push back my surgery date (when i do get one).  Keeping my fingers crossed......sigh

My Story

wow, where do i begin.....I'm 42 gained weight 15 years ago after the birth to my daughter.  Before the weight gain i was always the perfect size.  received a track and field scholarship to college and never worried about weight.  15 years and 2 children later i'm 286 pounds.  wow!  I always thought weight loss surgery was something that i would never be able to afford, until recently.  My husbands job changed insurance companies and bariatric surgery is now covered at 100%!!!!  if you meet the criteria of course.  Been a struggle for me.  I've been married to my husband for 15 years and he's been great through all the ups and downs.  He's been my biggest cheerleader.  I want my life back!  I can't do activities with my family because i get tired quickly.  I look in the mirror and dont know who the person is starring back at me.  I want my life back!
