Nothing new...
Jun 29, 2008
Just a quick post to update. Nothing new is going on. The kids are doing well...enjoying summer. I am still in summer school...nearly half way through and have midterms next Friday. DH is busy with work and political commitments due to the upcoming elections...so, he's not home much. Things truly could be described as "status quo" right now.
As for weight loss related issues...I am not having any to speak of. I think that I am having the same concerns that many of us at nearly a year and a half out have. Chiefly, will I screw this up and regain? I am holding steady with no real trouble at this point, but I do wonder if I will be able to continue to remain at this weight in the future. In addition, the skin issues are driving me crazy! My belly button itches like you wouldn't believe and this "apron" is simply ugly and uncomfortable, itchy as well. I am going to check into the possibility of insurance coverage for a tummy tuck (yeah, right, good luck with that, huh?) after I am cleared for ps by my surgeon at my 1 1/2 year visit. The boobs...those will certainly be on my dime no matter how bad I think they look.
So, that's all for now...except I probably need to update with some new pics since it has been quite a while since I loaded any new ones...maybe this week.

WTH? No food?

I don't know what is going on with me this week, but I just don't have any desire to eat. I've had weeks where I wasn't as hungry as the one before, but this is different. It feels like the early days out of surgery when I would forget to eat...no hunger pains, no indication that I should eat. This is so strange. I have dropped almost 6 pounds in the last 12 days. At first, I thought that it was due to the hot weather here (102 degrees +) stunting my hunger, but air conditioning sort of trumps that idea.
I'm sure that this will turn around, but it does make me wonder if my slight gains over the last couple of weeks is playing head games with me. I certainly don't want to lose anymore, but I wonder if my subconscious is in the drivers seat right now, taking away the hunger. If that is true, why couldn't this have happened before I had surgery? Maybe it did...it just didn't last very long. Anyway, I think I am just rambling and not making any sense to anyone but myself.
In other news, I am knee-deep in my studies for my Psych class. It's a lot of busy work, not too difficult but it's a class with a lot of reading. Also, I am checking the class site (online class) about 20 times a day to keep up with posts from other students. It is going to drive me crazy as I tend to get obsessive about keeping on top of these things. In fact, I have a quiz that I need to study for...the quiz needs to be taken before Sunday. I really don't like tests.

This is what we did this weekend
Jun 14, 2008
We had a great time on Saturday...sort of a pre-Father's Day out. There were lots of wonderful artists...some from as far away as Spain, Italy, and Japan. Neither Damon nor I had any work done...we simply don't have the excess funds for that right now as we spent all of our expendable cash on another big ticket purchase, but that's for another post.
I like it.

Dang it!

I was just running through my photo files and came across the ass shot for the butt post on the RNY board. It almost made me blush. I think it looks pretty darn good! Now tell me...why can't the front of me look as good as the back??? Is it some kind of cosmic joke? At least half of me doesn't need any surgery.
OMG....heaven in a wrapper.

I normally don't get crazy and loopy over protein bars...but....these are fantastic if sugar doesn't bother you too much. They are available in almond, strawberry and chocolate only versions...all with 14 grams of sugar and 12 grams of protein. Also, they contain the "love nuggets" , tm Melting Mama, similar to the Atkins Chocolate Double Crunch bars. Dare I say...these are better? And, they are dark chocolate...how can you go wrong with that??
In addition to the dark chocolate versions, Zone Perfect also offers fruit flavors. I have tried the blueberry and loved it...so I went back and bought one of each additional flavor to try. These additional flavors include apple cinnamon, banana nut, and orange cranberry. All have 14 grams of protein, but have varying levels of sugar (not for dumpers :o() and calories. I like them for an occasional treat...especially the dark chocolate bars.
