Week one down, one week to go!

Jan 24, 2012

Finishing up the first week of my two week pre-op diet tonight.  This expereince has been really great.  I'm never hungry, there's plenty to eat, I'm completely satisfied, I'm losing weight....and my 17 year old (and fit, no 'diet' needed) child adores my 'diet' food :-)

For some weird reason that makes me really happy.  She asked me to make her what I was having the other day.  It was a beef lettuce wrap.  She looked at it strange, and said I tricked her, because it was lettuce as opposed to bread.  She ate it. She loved it.  Now she bugs me for pieces of mine (because she's too lazy to go make her own), and her eyes almost roll back in her head when she expresses how good it is.

I had my barium swallow, upper gi xrays today.  My stomach is still kinda queasy.  I drank lots of extra fluids as instructed in an effort to flush the thick, yucky barium down.  Actually while I was in the office, I hadn't eaten all day, and that cup of barium took my hunger pains away (kinda enjoyed it ...shhhh don't tell anyone).  Any way no luck with the .  It's still in my tummy, and I'm very slightly nauseous...It'll come down eventually.  Just hope I'm not at work when it does.

And the whole bariatric xray experience was....interesting.  Normally I request a woman if I have to be naked and touched, but there was only a guy doing the upper gi.  I wasn't naked, but I was stripped to my underwear, wearing a gown that covered pretty much my boobs ony, by the time I'd done all of that turning on that table....soooooo, my rump is in this guys face, and he's pulling my hips a little this way, pushing them that way.  Usually I'd be uncomfortable with that.  I think I was a little delirious due to the lack of food...a$$ was just everywhere, but I couldn't seem to care a whole lot about it.
