My take on WLS wars

Dec 04, 2009

I am not invested in either RNY or DS since I had the VSG.  I just wanted to say that it is human nature to want to take stock in the most positive outcomes and dismiss the negative outcomes (feverently hoping that "it won't happen to me.")

Personally, I would be more inclined to plan for the worse case scenario of either choice and decide which I could live with should everything not go "according to plan."  I did consider ALL of the procedures.  It's NOT an easy decision.  Everyone who goes through with WLS should be commended for their courage and determination.  Bottom line, we all have to live with our decision post-op.  Better to make the best informed decision from the get go.  To plan for a revision is not smart.  If people find their way to OH and they are looking for info, it is certainly available.
