Welcome to Stage 4 - Puree

Mar 24, 2011

This whole experience is a great big learning curve. This morning I started the day with an egg-beater/whole egg mix and low fat cheese omlet. As recomended by the nutritionist, I used 1 egg and a 1/4th cup of egg beaters. The omlet wasn't bad, but I didn't allow enough time to eat it, thus, I ate too much! I've spent the entire morning with a huge gas bubble in the center of my chest. Fortunately, I didn't throw it back up. Lesson learned: Give your self more time in the morning so you can eat your food slower and feel your body tell you that you've had enough.

It's time for lunch, but I really don't want to eat. I'll do it anyway because I'm going to the gym in a couple of hours.  I'll eat slowly this time and hopefully the gas bubble will dissipate. Lunch is 2 oz. of Tuna with fat free mayo and some Gerbers pears.

After my work out I'l have some yogurt and at Dinner I'll have 2 more oz of talapia and some pureed spinach.

...
Just got back from my workout. I'm still sore from earlier in the week, but God has given me the strength to perservere.  Today was another 30 minutes on the treadmill.  I was able to complete 1.74 miles and burned 267 calories. Not too bad. I'm meeting one of my goals to exercise a minimum of 5 times per week.

Lunch went down easier than breakfast. I followed instructions and waited 30 minutes after drinking to begin eating it.  The portion size was really small, but it filled me up. Now... snack time. :)
