I finally scheduled my psychological evaluation!!!!
I just started this WLS journey about a month ago but I've been fighting against obesity my entire life. At every little step in this process there is always some hiccup to work through or just deal with. I decided against working with the doctor at the first WLS seminar I attended because I wanted someone with more experience. So after a bit of research I scheduled a consultation with another doctor and of course this consultation had to be pushed back a week. After the consultation, I left a message with the psychologist the surgeon recommended and 4 days later, I still have not heard back from that psychologist.
However, one of the insurance coordinators called today. I mentioned that the psychologist has not returned my call yet and the coordinator said that particular psychologist is also very slow about handing in paperwork. Although the surgeon recommends him, the insurance department tries to steer clients to other psychologists that are timelier. She gave me the name of another psychologist and I called and left a message for him. He returned my call in half an hour and I booked an appointment with him for tomorrow!!!! Wow! I'm so happy. Now hopefully I will pass the evaluation.
