My Story

Hi Everyone~
I had a DS on March 30, 2011 by Dr. Greenbaum at OLOL Hospital Willingboro, NJ.
I have been blessed with an angel...my dear sweet friend Theapia!  She has been there for me everyday of this journey...thank you doesn't seem to be enough~
I was on meal replacement  protein shakes 2wks pre op and clear liquids the day ebefore surgery.
Everyone was wonderful>>office staff and hospital!
Post op I went to ICU>>protocol for 2days.  I got out of bed the night of surgery and walked with assistance.  The day after surgery I had an UGI to check for "leaks".  Once I was cleared of leaks I started ice chips.
I was discharged home on my 4th post op day>surgery Wednesday/home on Sunday.
My recovery from the surgery has been great~
My ability to cope to the changes/adjustments required have been less than great!
Initially post op I struggled with being extremely hungry!  Not being satisfied with liquids/soft foods.  Being challenged trying to get the water in, the vitamins and my medications~
Now 6wks post op I struggle with nausea, getting all that water in, vitamins and my medications.  Zofran doesn't help.
I am very anxious for this to pass!
On the positive my cholesterol is normal...yeah!  I've lost 37lbs total>>10lbs before surgery!
